It’s always nice to visit arboretums in Spring. Blooming is everywhere. Bees and hummingbirds are flying around you. Everything is so sweet and warm
After returning from Belarus first thing I want is to be under the Californian sun. I wanted to feel Spring. And what is the best place to feel Spring than a garden?
I had Santa Cruz Arboretum in my bookmarks for a long time. The day was beautiful so nothing stopped us.
The impressive area of the park is divided into four major parts: Austalia, New Zeland, South Africa, and, of course, native California plants. So as you could guess, there you’ll see the unique Spring blooming.
We started from the New Zeland region
And walk to the eucalyptus grove
South Africa Section
From there we entered Australia section. And it was so amazing!
Golden flowers of different acacias stopped me with aromas and the golden light
I never saw before such big and bright eucalyptus flowers!
But a unique one was banksia.
It looks like they have the big list of different banksia sorts
We walked into the Laurasian Forest section which is under development right now. But even today it has few species of bamboo
And this strange-looking pine
And of course, native Californian species.
Right near the shop they have a succulent garden.
Garden is very sweet. The nicest part is the animals: rabbits, lizards, and pretty green hummingbirds
Loved visiting this place when we lived in the Bay Area.
