I love old sites. They have their mood and beauty. Most of the time they become a part of the landscape. That is the case with Fort Tejon.
Located in the Grapevine Canyon right near the Tejon Pass, this historic site has the good position for short road trip stop. We returned from LA to the Bay Area, and I knew about this place.
What I cannot know that time is that we will catch last parts of the storm clouds.
Fort contains few adobes with exhibitions. For served as a military outpost controlling the Sebastian Indian Reservation and protecting it and farmers from the raids of other Indians.
Few farm buildings. We saw chickens, bit it felt like in the season they have few more animals.
And of course, magnificent oaks stand upon all this.
