Some places are like old friends, you are always happy to see them. This is the deal with the Castle Rock. We hiked the main portion of the park every year, and still glad to do it again.
We always go to the Goat Rock. And always climb it (well, I would say I more scream than climb). Always sit there for some period of time before going down. And I always afraid of it. And Eugene always helps me…

And this oak covered hill where Fall is always good-looking. Saratoga Gap is looking amazingly lovely through the oak branches. The light has golden color in it, and that’s the real world magic.

And the way back among the brushes, red because of the season and the setting sun. It’s always more than a hike, it’s a Castle Rock hike with elements of bouldering.
It’s probably the best place to see Santa Cruz mountains ranges meet together at Saratoga Gap.
