So it was a planned. Well planned trip. Eugene needed to visit family.
Previously I’ve only once stayed in Sac overnight. I had no preferences, I never heard any interesting review on any particular hotel in the area. So I just booked as always did. I wanted some place near midtown but not far from Old Sacramento. The Citizen hotel got me with this photo. Only in a week before the date I read the post about this hotel and how fancy it is. So I guess I’m lucky?
Actually I wanted to see capital city in Spring Bloom. I even google nearby farms to check the garden blossom. But in the end I decided that park near Capitol should nice in Spring. So we wondered a bit in the building and then walked in the park. I actually thought there would be a way more fruit trees in flowers. But magnolias were amazing. I still don’t understand how I left without photos.
End of the day was spent in the Old Town. I love this place. Especially in the evening light.
After some walk I need eat and rest. And nothing could beat lunch at the riverfront at Rio City Cafe (long wait, good food; but ask for a table with river view). The timing was especially great to see the how Tower Bridge was lifted to make a way for Hornblower.
The next day was spent in the Midtown. I saw so many beautiful photos of the old Victorian buildings and eateries of it. I was so happy to check all places by myself.
The place has so many interesting murals I cannot stop to photo them all. When it come to the coffee Temple Coffee Roaster was a good place to stop by.
And my inner bookworm wanted to see Time Tested Books
And of course mansions
