I’m definitely in love with Pacific Northwest Coastline. Rugged and green, it always has so many surprises and places to explore.
The previous year we finished our adventure in Florence. At home, I started to get myself on thoughts that there are too many places at Oregon Coast south from Florence I would like to check. So I booked our Independence Day trip route to pass through Oregon.
The hardest part was to define what we will see and what we will skip.
Umpqua Lighthouse
We woke up at Reedsport and headed to the Umpqua Lighthouse. Actually, I was disappointed. The small building near the road and parking lot surrounding with the fence. Long view on the dunes was beautiful though
Cape Arago
What I did like was Cape Arago. We stopped for a short break at Sunset Bay State Park.
Then we stopped in every pull outs
Until reached Cape Arago State Park.
Coquille River Lighthouse
Coquille River Lighthouse smoothed broken heart feeling after Umpqua. Sandy dunes, light fog, and the wind made the place especially nice-looking
Driftwoods!!!!
Coquille Point and Kronenberg County Park
Right on the other side of Coquille River there is Kronenberg County Park with its rock formations and cliffs of all forms
Cape Blanco
We came to the Cape Blanco well after the lunch. And saw only the keeper closing the gate to the lighthouse.
The wind was so strong that I hardly could stand. I took few shots of the cape and lighthouse and found the nice looking cliff-pinnacle on the other side of the Cape.
Google told me it has the name “Needle Rock”.
Gold Beach
We stayed overnight in Gold Beach. There was the beach right near the hotel we stayed. So we decided to take a walk.
Strong wind cleans up rocks on the beach and cleans up the beach from the people.

Samuel H Boardman Scenic Corridor
It was Tuesday, and we need to drive long 8 hours road back home. But my list had one and the most interesting place. I saw so many photos of the vistas and beaches of Samuel H Bordman park that I cannot wait for another visit here.
