Walton Lighthouse and Holidays Light Boat Parade

If you did one thing, two years in a row did it become your tradition? When it will become the tradition? After the third time?
Year ago we saw the Christmas Boat parade in Santa Cruz Harbor. As the person who identifies Christmas with snow, the show was an experience for me. The decorated boats with the light display that only you can imagine toured the small harbor. Holiday music filled the air. And everyone was happy.
So it was obvious we will visit the event this year too.
Santa Cruz harbor has a lot of beautiful things. Though my favorite is the Seabright State beach and Walton lighthouse on the harbor’s east side.
The sandy beach is a very secluded place. From one side it is divided from the town by the San Lorenzo River from another – with the harbor. It stretches like for half a mile or less but has the impressive views of the lighthouse and the breakwater and on the wharf and Broadwalk.
This time skies were hazy and moody. It was well before the sunset, but the sun was well hidden by the clouds.
We find an excellent place to watch the parade and prepared ourselves for the show. The sun moved beyond the horizon, and the light became blue. And then changed again from the blue to navy and to black.
Last year we stayed for 40 minutes, watched the round and then returned to the car (it was freezing!). This time we watched like three tours. I recognized some boats from the previous year, and some decorations looked entirely unseen.
Music played, and I finally found my Christmas mood.

    Lighthouses are the best!
Why the light is kinda green there?

It’s a some kind of regular bulb. The lighthouse has mostly decorative purpose and marks entry to the harbor. I think it’s not visible from the ocean
