Two year ago. Hot 2015 winter, we are spending Presidents Day Weekend visiting Death Valley NP with a night over in Lone Pine. I am, as usual checking local travel brochures. The Movie Road and Alabama Hills arches caught my eyes.

That time I wasn’t very impressed with Death Valley. Oh yes, unique but somehow it was too hot and too bright for me and nothing stopped my eyes. Alabama Hills changed the impression from neutral to highly positive!
Two years from that trip we decided to return to the region during Presidents Day weekend (again!). And I wanted to spent some time in Alabama Hills. Though I wanted to spent sunset there but weather decided that it would not be possible. The rain in the desert region was a quite a surprise. Even on the morning Mt Whitney was covered with clouds.
