The May trip went not as planned. Rainy was heavy than forecasted, the road to the waterfall was in the worse condition we expected, and by the end of the Saturday, there was overcasted sky all over.
But it was fun.
Whiskeytown Lake
We were there on the Independence Day holidays. We swam a lot, water was so nice! The level of the lake was low, but Winter and Spring helped a bit.
My favorite place at Brandy Creek beach was full of kayakers, but we found the new and secluded place for ourselves.
Only ducks joined us
There I also found fresh Brandy Creek flowing into the lake.
Shasta Town State Historic Park
Well, it’s not the most interesting historical site I’ve ever seen. Not even in the first 50. But during lazy rainy day, it was interesting to explore
Sundial Bridge
I wanted to meet sunset there. I saw so many beautiful pictures where the white bridge tower to the red sky. And what do we found there that day? Air full of moisture and sky full of clouds. And ducks 🙂
Shasta Dam and Lake
We stopped there on the morning next day. It was overcasted as previous, but warm.
I like the lake, and I like the view of the river on the other side of the dam. Don’t know why but most of the times I looked on it.
There is also a museum, with collections of the photos and exhibits from the time of the building
And another good view of the dam.
