Pinnacles National Park

I waited from the beginning of February when skies will be covered with clouds. Or at least have some clouds. The plan was to hike Pinnacle NP before it becomes too hot there. And early Spring didn’t help. The high temperatures and clear bright blue sky are not the best conditions for a visit to the park.
I almost didn’t believe when saw that Sunday, Feb 11th will have some clouds. So it was a moment.
It was our third visit to the park: once we did extreme long and hot August hike, two years ago we checked Bear Gulch to High Peaks trail.
This time we hiked Balcony Caves to High Peaks and then back to the valley.
And I wasn’t prepared for Balcony Caves. I didn’t read about the trail. We had only our phones as light sources, and once stuck when trying to find the way through.
But I can say it was a fascinating trail. The high ceiling of the caves was a surprise, as well as the way how path went from one cave to another.

The trail exits caves right near the West Entrance from where we took Chapparal trail to the High Peaks. The skies cleared, so only a few small clouds left.
From the High Peaks, the trail was familiar. We did it in 2014.
