Olympic: Hurricane Hill

The Rainer and its snow crashed one of my biggest dream for that trip: to see wildflowers bloom in the mountains. So many pictures I saw, so many expectations I had about it. But nope, too early.
Hurricane Ridge was my biggest exclusion from the agenda. With the heavy heart I selected waterfall (particular Marymere Falls, I spoke about few posts ago). When driving from Seattle, I already know that I would change this issue.
So on the morning of the Thursday, we drove into the Hurricane Ridge district.

At first, as I saw snow, I thought “Oh, no! Not again”. What a relief was to see just patches of snow around Hurricane Hill trail! And how happy I was when I saw all that violet and yellow flowers!
On the top, you will have 360 degrees views from the ranges to the ocean.

And all these wildlife! We met the family of rabbits, and then immediately after it, the elk standing on the edge of the hill! Elk, we saw here and previously near the visitor centerб wasn’t scared of people, and showed that this is their home, and they don’t care about us 🙂
