Forest of Nisene Marks: Hike to Maple Falls

I never hiked in the Forest of Nisene before that day. And I never wanted. Somehow, this place looked a bit strange to me. All hikes are long, too hard to make it loop.

The only thing I knew about this park is that there are two big waterfalls.
So I returned from business trip and wanted badly to go to the hiking in the woods. I couldn’t decide what falls to select. Eugene made the selection of shorter trail. That’s why we headed to the Maple Falls
The hike is one of the easiest in the Santa Cruz Mountains with a little elevation change.

But be afraid, after the big rain, it’s one of the muddiest trails .
The official map shows only three creek crossings. But I’m afraid rainy season add few seasonal streams and falls. I didn’t count bridges and thought we hiked through two of them.
First we stopped right near the big waterfall.

Then we crossed few small streams, trail went very close to the creek. And then we saw it.
