Fall hike at Castle Rock State park

We did a lot of hikes in Santa Cruz Mountains. I like redwood grows, waterfalls and creek, hills and vistas. But one place has the most stunning views. And this place is a Castle Rock State Park.

This Sunday I woke up because of the heavy rain. I checked the weather forecast. It promised rain stops before noon but warned of strong wind. Ugly weather, right? But Sunday is my lucky hiking day. And with that conditions extremely popular trails should be empty! And with that, I remembered about May hike in Castle Rock. Impressive mountains and crowds. Yeah, that meant only one: I selected one of the most popular Santa Cruz Mountains trails – Saratoga Gap trail from Castle Rock State Park.

And of course, we climbed on the Goat Rock to have tea and few minutes of the visual pleasure.

I have a goal to explore all vistas and viewpoints on the Skyline Blvd. This time, we found pull out with a good view of Saratoga Gap west of Los Altos Rod and Gun Club.
